Take Some Time Out

When was the last time you took time out for yourself?

Taking time out for yourself is actually a gift to everyone else, think about that for a second.

When we fail to give ourselves alone time, it’s not a matter if we burnout, it’s a matter of when?

I am honest enough to admit, I burned out mentally, emotionally and physically resulting in a nervous breakdown.

It took me 18 months to recover from it, during which I never spoke to anyone, met anyone or even stepped foot out of the house.

I was so busy taking care of everyone else that I forgot about myself and the above happened as a result.

When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.

If you neglect to make time for yourself or take care of your needs, you will eventually fail in every other role you have.

So whatever it is, it can wait. Meet that friend for a coffee, go for that long drive watching the scenery, read a book sitting on a beach listening to the waves. Who care if you are alone, it doesn’t mean you are lonely, it just means you are learning about yourself, what inspires you and gain clarity.

Life is short, so make yourself a priority. It’s not selfish, it’s necessary…

To your success.
