Space…

No, this isn’t a blog about the universe, or astro-physics, despite its interesting topics for discussion, instead I am talking about another important kind of space; the space around you, the space inside you, the space you live in, the space you work in and the space between you and others.

Space in these terms is an important topic to prioritise and think about when it comes to daily life and is important for your health and motivation, therefore your successes.

When you’re at home, the space, is it cluttered? Do you constantly find to-do lists written and pinned up everywhere of things you need to do around your home? Do you get home from work, or leave your workspace to just feel like you’ve gone from one unorganised place to another?

Studies and research has shown that when you have a cluttered space your mind is more susceptible to stress, the mess that is physically around you has an effect on your psyche.

In other studies, results have shown that when people have deadlines, big events to rehearse for, exams to study for, the things they tend to do when highly stressed is start tidying and decluttering, doing the washing pile that’s been sitting there all week, sorting through photographs they haven’t looked at for years because that’s so much more important than what has the specific timescale on.

The key is, organise your home and your workspace so that you can actually think clearly and in an organised fashion so that you can use your energy fully to focus on the task at hand and succeed with all your energy well directed. The space in your mind, the space in your workplace and the space in your home when it’s clear is the best start for you to achieve your goals.

It may seem really trivial and something that you may overlook, but take a chance and see how it works for you.

To your success.
