Reflecting on life is something everyone has done at one point or another, dwelling in the past is a different thing altogether.
Reflection is often something people are taught to do while studying and/or training for specific roles but it is something that needs to be taken into account in life for success. While reflecting back on scenarios, things people have taught or said to us, poignant moments and events in our life, it not only helps us realise how far we’ve gotten, but how far we’ve came and how we could do things differently.
Think back to the split decisions you made that have gotten you where you are today. It doesn’t matter if you deem them bad or good, try not to dwell on the bad ones, as we all know, failing and failures are the only way we succeed.
Think about what changes you made that could have led you on a completely different path. Even though every tiny decision could have led to a completely different way of life, think about the momentous, relative decisions. How could you have done it differently? How would you have done that differently? Would you actually have changed the way you went about it knowing where you are now?
Knowing that you as a person, grows infinitely with every fall you have, knowing that you learn so much more from failings than a stream of success?
Reflecting is good practice to remind yourself of where you want to be, it sounds like a double entendre, but it’s not my friend, it’s the catalyst in the drive you have, it’s the reminder of where you have yet to go and the knowledge you have gained along the way.
Reflect and succeed.
To your success.
