Interesting You – Interesting Be.

It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it. – Dale Carnegie

Being an interesting person can help you succeed in life, you’re open and interesting and everyone wants to know your story, their intentions may be other than good but once you’ve picked yourself up a few times, you’ll have learned how to weed out the ones with bad intentions.

Interesting people and those who everyone wants to know don’t always stand out straight away, but when they start talking in a social situation, you’ll notice that people start gravitating towards them to hear more of what stories they have to tell.

It’s nothing to good looks or Lamborghini’s they just got out of while dressed in a tailored Armani suit, interesting people don’t attract other interesting people with flashy toys and a bright white smile.

The most interesting people can be found begging in the streets, volunteering at events, fundraising for charities or the nurse taking your bloods for example.

What is it that attracts us all to them like moths to a flame? Well, they’re curious, positive and adventurous, they’re passionate and an opportunist. For example; how captivated were you by the last person who complained about how long they waited in a queue and how terrible the traffic was? I’m willing to bet you were more annoyed or frustrated than anything.

The interesting person would tell you what they saw while waiting in that queue or what they were reading and found out while they stood, in what queue? They will probably miss this part out because they know how tedious it sounds.

The interesting person would tell you what happened when they got to their destination, not how long they waited staring at the boot and license plate of the car in front.

It’s all in how you put a spin on your tales that makes you interesting, you pick out what you would want to hear and tell that story, because you know that complaining and moaning just brings the mood and tone down and nobody wants to be that guy. These habits of conversation come naturally to some people and others sometimes need to remind themselves while they’re talking to not go on about the negative things.

What drives through these conversations that make them so interesting to hear, is the passion and drive you can clearly feel from the person. When you’re passionate about what you’re talking about it clearly shows and it emanates from you like a neon beacon.

Whether you’re talking about what may seem like the most mundane thing to someone else, if you speak about what makes you so passionate, it will be interesting to someone else because they learn about it from another perspective rather than just what they have heard or know for themselves.

Being yourself, the passionate, curious and positive person you are, will attract more than flashing what you’ve just bought or complaining about whatever you’re getting bugged about.

Keeping true to yourself, your quirky interests and hobbies, not jumping on the bandwagon with the latest trends, trying out new activities even if you’re scared, pushing yourself, experiencing and learning new things is all what can make you an interesting person but you will also be happier and interested more in yourself which is ultimately the key.

Yes it’s possible to bore yourself with yourself, that’s why we usually tend to seek out the company of others but knowing how to be interesting to yourself and building your own qualities for you is key to your success in life. You succeed when you learn how to make yourself happy.

Think forward, think of the positive sides of life and whatever you feel just now will become even better.

To your success.
