Learn to Switch Off

I was speaking at a sales conference not so long ago where this young entrepreneur had come up to me and asked me to sign a copy of my book for him.


He said he loved my story and was about to give up on his business dream until the words I written inspired him to continue his journey.


Feeling incredibly humbled, I asked the question as to why he wanted to give up?


His reply was that he just could not switch off and felt like he had no life outside of his business.


He then asked me how do I switch off from it all?


My reply was success comes to the hardest worker in the room, yes I work 20 hour days till to this day but when I do take time off, it is exactly that. I put the do not disturb feature on in my phone and put my phone away and switch off from all the noise.


Most of you who know me, know I love to hit the track and race, I love to jet ski, quad bike in the desert or go deep sea diving, sometimes I just sit at the park feeding the ducks and people watch to reflect how grateful I am for having another day of life.


Remember there is more to life than work, you weren’t sent to this planet just to pay crappy bills and a mortgage.


My motto is simple, I’d rather die with memories than live with dreams!
