Relationships: Conflict and Resolve.

In life we meet so many people; some we build relationships with, some we meet for a brief moment in time and will never see again and some who we think will be in our lives for a long time but are only there for a short period and some we hope to never see again but somehow manage to keep popping up over and over.

In business, you will meet many people, most who you will work with in some capacity. Whether this is a partner, a customer, a superior, an employee – you will spend time with these people and at one point you will reach a crossroads. You will have to decide whether to follow through with a transaction or choice with these people. These choices we make influence our futures in ways we couldn’t imagine, even the smallest gesture, so be wise and humble with your decisions.

With these relationships with colleagues, subordinates, superiors, you’re bound to also reach a time of conflict. How you react to this will have significant influence on your life also, it can come back into your life at a later date and it cannot be pleasant – but, remember we are all here to share this world, we all make mistakes, we all have failures, we all have successes.

Sometimes, these failures can bring people together to pull through the hard times together. Sometimes, these failures when it involves others can cause animosity. Understand, that you have to be the bigger person when it causes problems, you need to take ownership and move past it. Why allow someone to take up space in your mind when they’re not paying rent? Why allow someone to influence your success when you have done all you can to resolve the situation and appease those affected?

Understand that there is only so many times you can apologise and some will still be bitter, years and years after the conflict occurred. Also understand that it is your choice on how to react.

Move past, stay strong, forgive, forget and succeed.

To your success.
