I’m not saying you have to follow a religion to get to where you want to be. If your faith supports you and guides you, then excellent, keep it up if that’s what helps you but, what I mean is following a routine religiously. Keeping up a routine for success is made the night before, tonight and each night going forward to work your way through tomorrow and can aid your journey dramatically towards success.
Each night, for a few hours, follow the few following principles in a routine to make the best of yourself, the best of your day and the best of your success.
Identify the three biggest obstacles
This isn’t to stress you out before sleeping, it’s to organise your thoughts and where you feel needs worked on most importantly. Write down a plan of how you’re going to tackle these each night and what you can do to overcome them. You can delegate these tasks to others if that’s what makes it easier, or you can make sure that it’s workable for you to get around and overcome these. Remember to make sure it’s only three, and three obstacles that are manageable.
Take a walk
Go outside, you don’t need to be running a 5k each night, but just a gentle walk for around 30 minutes to dust the day off and gather your thoughts.
No technology, no tracking calories, no thinking about to do lists – leave this be and focus on relaxing your mind, taking in oxygen to cleanse your body and gentle muscle movements to revitalise your body and remember that you are your own person again.
Enjoy your relationships
85% of your success and your failure is dependent on your personal relationships. Having healthy relationships with your partner and family is paramount and as you can see, very influential on how you succeed. Take the time to talk to them, eat with them and discuss everyone’s day and support one another’s hopes and dreams. Having happy and healthy relationships with those closest will aid you like you never thought it could.
Invest in you
Take 30 minutes each night to educate yourself. Rather than watching TV each night and wasting time scrolling through social media feeds before you go to bed, take the time to educate yourself and read a book. Investing in yourself is what can make you and it gives you power.
Knowledge and ideas are brought about through reading, so go to your library online or in store, go to a bookshop each week and pick up something that will help build your knowledge so that you are able to gain new ideas and are prepared for what can come at you in the future.
Before you go to sleep, think of what you are grateful for. It doesn’t have to be complex, simple things like the oxygen in your lungs, the roof
over your head, the family you have, the food you eat. It’s all relative and worth it to be thankful for, because at some point (you may have experience already) these may not be around. Be thankful for what you have already and the successes you have already achieved. Be grateful that you can wake up each morning and give yourself purpose.
Enjoy what you have and what you can give.
To your success…
